Weekend in Polonia!

Weekend in Polonia!

Salutare dragilor! Am avut parte de un weekend foarte special petrecut in Polonia. Poate va intrebati cum am ajuns in Polonia?

Weekend in Polonia!

Pe tot drumul am intalnit numai santiere deschise si proiecte in desfasurare. Cred ca data viitoare cand vom merge in zona aia o sa zburam! Bravo lor!

Weekend in Polonia!

Fiecare echipa a trebuit sa gateasca cateva preparate.

Weekend in Polonia!

Weekend in Polonia!

Cina noastra a constat in preparatele gatite impreuna. Mi s-a parut o idee super buna.

Urmatoarea zi, dupa micul dejun, ne-am pus in miscare inapoi catre Varsovia.

Weekend in Polonia!

Weekend in Polonia!

Weekend in Polonia!

Byeee!

For english press 1!

Hello guys! I had a very special weekend in Poland. Maybe you are wondering how come i went so spontaneously to Poland. If you read my last few recipes you noticed that i was challenged by Panasonic to try their new Lumix photo camera and to take part in a contest. I rolled my sleeves and started cooking. I made some delicious pasta, a salmon tartar and a cake full of wonderful chocolate. I was very happy when Anca Ionesc (Attitude PR) called me, to let me know that i was selected to participate in a culinary and photo workshop that was taking place in Poland.

Weekend in Polonia!

It was very exciting because it was going to be my first time in Poland. So I packed my bags and very early on Saturday I met at the airport with Anca and my fellow bloggers Cristina Toth ( divainbucatarie.ro), Alice Ciobanu (tarabucatelor.ro) si Stefan Lungu (printesapolonic.ro). We boarded the plane and flew to Warsaw. When we arrived we met with our guide who took us to hotel Marriot for breakfast. There we waited for our neighbors, the Hungarian bloggers and together with the Polish bloggers we left for Olsztyn, in Northern Poland.

After 200 km we arrived to our destination. When i saw the place i understood why such a far location was chosen. A beautiful area with many, many lakes and lots of vegetation. The hotel was right by the water and the landscape was amazing.

Weekend in Polonia!

Just so you know, the guys in Poland were probably getting bored or something, and they started to build highways. All along our way we saw a lot of ongoing construction for the highway. Probably the next time we visit that area we will almost fly with our cars. Great job guys!

Where was i? So we arrived and were invited to lunch: a starter with pork meat and pickled wild mushrooms, piroshki filled with wild mushrooms, walnuts, buckwheat (i think) and spinach pesto with garlic, local fish and pavlova with vanilla cream, strawberry sauce and plenty of fresh fruits. Klara (PR manager for Central and Eastern Europe) explained that the area is well known for its mushrooms and fish, so they wanted to make some dishes that feature the local produce.

Weekend in Polonia!

With our bellies full we were invited to the workshop. Panasonic organised for us a cooking workshop where we had the opportunity to cook with Panasonic appliances. With us there was a Polish Master Chef finalist. Each team had to cook a few dishes.

Weekend in Polonia!

We had to make bruschetta with lemon infused white beans pate, chickpeas hummus with baked beetroot and truffles with cacao, dates and pistachio. My favorite recipe was hummus with beetroot. I will share the recipe soon, stay tuned! We had fun cooking and made a great team together. To prepare the recipes we used a slow juicer, a blender and a food processor, all from Panasonic.

Weekend in Polonia!

After this we were invited to the photography workshop, where a professional photographer from Poland explained to us the features of Lumix cameras. Lumix photo cameras are very versatile and advanced, so he showed us how to use them in order to make the best photos.

Weekend in Polonia!

Our dinner was all the food that we cooked together. I taught that this was a great idea because there was no waste and we got to enjoy the food cooked by all of us.

The next day, after breakfast, we went back to Warsaw. Saturday was clouded and not such a warm weather, but on Sunday it was sunny and warmish so it was great for a walk in the city center.

Once we arrived in Warsaw we went for lunch (because what do food bloggers do best? :))) ) and after that for a walk downtown. I found Warsaw to be a very beautiful city. I knew that the city was rebuild basically from scratch after the war and i was expecting a greyish landscape. But it’s not like that at all. Despite the communist type architecture, the wide boulevards, colorful buildings, monuments, statues and large parks, make Warsaw a beautiful city that is worth visiting. I found one thing to be very interesting and a great example of a way in which a city can promote its values: all around the city center there are granite benches with audio devices incorporated, that play different Chopin compositions. Every bench has a different composition and info. Awesome!

Weekend in Polonia!

We did the city tour accompanied by Klara and a very nice guide, who showed us the main attractions and offered us a lot of historical information. I hope to go back to Warsaw and Poland soon because for sure there are lots of other things to see, do and eat. We bought our magnets and souvenirs and went back home. Of course that, besides the magnets, i bought three different jars of lard with onion and other toppings. Bye bye diet and healthy eating! Nice to meet u!

The experience was wonderful and we got the change to do and see so much for the short time spend there. The Polish Panasonic team was a very hospitable host, they organised everything to the smallest detail so that our time there would be perfect and they succeeded doing it. I want to congratulate and thank them again for the great weekend and we expect them in Romania. Dear Klara (I hope u read this), I didn’t get the change to tell you that now, you have your own Romanian crew, so if you are ever in Bucharest or Ploiesti, wanting some company or in need of something, just let us now.

Also a lot of thanks to Anca Ionescu who included me in the event, organized our departure and was very  attentive to us to make sure we have the best time. I hope I get the chance soon to see my fellow bloggers and to cook again together!

I hope that you stay tuned for the hummus and piroshki recipes and also because we are going to play with some Panasonic devices soon.

Byeeee!
